Open Settings → Plan & usage, click Cancel plan and confirm. Nothing more is charged, you keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for (or the trial), and then your account moves to Free.

  1. Step 1: Open Plan & usage

In the app, open Settings → Plan & usage.

  2. Step 2: Click Cancel plan

It's next to Change plan and Manage billing.

  3. Step 3: Confirm

The dialog shows the date your plan stays on until. Click Cancel plan (or Cancel trial during a trial). To back out, click Keep ….

You can also cancel in the Stripe billing portal: click Manage billing and cancel there. Either way the plan ends at the end of the current period, not immediately, and there are no retention offers to click through.

What happens after you cancel

  • Nothing more is charged. During a trial, you aren't charged at all.
  • Plan & usage shows a Canceled (or Trial canceled) badge and the end date.
  • On the end date your account moves to the Free plan and Free limits apply.
  • Your documents stay in your account. Version history beyond Free's 7 days is hidden, not deleted, and comes back if you upgrade again.

Changed your mind?

Until the end date, click Resume plan on Plan & usage. The plan renews as before and nothing changes on your card.

Do I get money back when I cancel?

Canceling stops future charges but doesn't refund the current period. If it's within 14 days of your first payment on pdfbetter.com, you can ask for a full refund.

Does deleting my account cancel the plan?

A plan billed on pdfbetter.com is canceled immediately when you delete your account, without a refund for the current period. An App Store subscription keeps renewing until you cancel it with Apple.

I'm on a team. How do I cancel?

Only the team owner manages the Business plan. Plan & usage shows who that is. You can leave the team from Team & branding.
