How much storage you have, and what counts toward it
Free includes 1 GB, Pro 50 GB and Business 200 GB per seat. See what you've used in Settings → Plan & usage → Storage. When it's full, new files can't be added until you delete documents, empty the trash or upgrade.

Storage is the space your stored files take up. Unlike monthly allowances it doesn't reset: it goes down when you delete documents for good. Each person has their own allowance; on Business it's per seat, so every member gets the full 200 GB for the documents they own.
| Plan | Storage |
|---|---|
| Without an account | 0.25 GB |
| Free | 1 GB |
| Pro | 50 GB |
| Business | 200 GB per seat |
What counts
- Originals of the documents you own: the PDF, Word, Excel or image file you uploaded or created.
- New versions saved by operations that rewrite the file: applying redactions, OCR and scan restoration.
- Saved downloads and copies: each downloaded, shared or filled copy is kept with its document until the document is deleted for good.
- Images, signatures and logos you uploaded.
Each file counts once, even when several versions share it. Files that don't count: temporary uploads to tools (they expire), tool results you didn't save as a document, signing evidence, and documents someone else owns and shared with you.
See what you've used
Step 1: Open Plan & usage
Go to Settings → Plan & usage. The Storage section shows a meter such as “1.2 GB of 1 GB”.
Step 2: Watch for the warning
When you pass 90%, the dashboard shows a notice with links to the trash and to your plan.
Free up space
Step 1: Delete documents you don't need
Move them to the trash from My documents. Deleting removes the original and every saved version and download with it.
Step 2: Empty the trash
Trashed documents keep using storage until they're erased. Open Trash and choose Empty trash, or wait: trashed documents are erased automatically 30 days after you delete them.
Step 3: Or upgrade
Pro and Business include more storage. Compare plans.
I'm editing a document someone shared with me and it says the owner's storage is full.
The document grows in its owner's storage, not yours. Ask them to free up space or upgrade; your own allowance doesn't help here.
I downgraded and now I'm over the limit. Did I lose anything?
No. Nothing is deleted. You just can't add new files until you're back under your plan's allowance.
Does storage reset every month?
No. Monthly allowances like downloads reset; storage only goes down when files are deleted for good.
