A signing template remembers how a request is set up, not who it goes to: each recipient becomes a role (“Tenant”, “Landlord”), and fields stay assigned to their role. Use it for documents you send again and again, like leases, offer letters or NDAs.

Save a template

  1. Step 1: Set up the request once

In Invite to sign, add the recipients, place each one's fields, and choose the order, message, reminders and expiry.

  2. Step 2: Save it

In the top bar, click the template icon, Save as signing template (its label shows on wide screens). The names you typed become the role names.

Use a template

  1. Step 1: Open the document

Open the PDF and switch to Invite to sign.

  2. Step 2: Start from the template

Click Start from a signing template at the top of the recipients step and pick one. Its roles replace the current recipients, and its fields go onto the same page numbers.

  3. Step 3: Fill in the people and send

Type each person's name and email in place of the role, check the fields, then Send.

You can also start from Templates → Signing templates: Use asks which document to send it with, and Use with “…” in the ⋯ menu opens the document the template was made from.

Rename or delete

In Templates → Signing templates, each template shows its roles, field count and when it was last used. The ⋯ menu has Rename and Delete. Deleting a template doesn't affect requests already sent from it.

Can my team use my signing templates?

Not yet. Signing templates are personal. To share a reusable document with your team, use a document template.

What's the difference from a document template?

A document template is a reusable PDF with its fields. A signing template is the recipient set-up of a request (roles, which fields each fills, message and order), applied to whichever document you choose.

Can I bulk send from a template?

Yes: apply the template, keep one signer, then choose Bulk send when you send. See Bulk send.
