Upload fails or stalls, and file size and page limits
Most failed uploads are a dropped connection: click Retry in the Uploads tray. If the message says the file is too large or has too many pages, you've hit your plan's limit: 50 MB and 500 pages per document on Free.

Limits per document
| Plan | Largest file | Pages per document | Files per job |
|---|---|---|---|
| No account | 25 MB | 200 | 20 |
| Free | 50 MB | 500 | 30 |
| Pro | 250 MB | 2,000 | 100 |
| Business | 500 MB | 5,000 | 250 |
Browser tools (merge, split, rotate and similar) don't upload anything, so these limits don't apply. Their only ceiling is your browser's memory; very large files can be too big for a browser tab.

When it stalls
Step 1: Check the phase
The Uploads tray shows Uploading, then Converting to PDF on our servers… for Office files, then Adding to your documents…. Conversion of a long Word or Excel file can take a minute.
Step 2: Keep the tab open
Closing or reloading the tab cancels uploads in progress.
Step 3: Retry or re-save
If a conversion fails, click Retry. If it fails again, open the file in Office, save it, and upload the new copy, or export it to PDF yourself and upload the PDF.
Does converting a Word file count against my plan?
Yes. Office uploads are converted on our servers and count as office & advanced conversions: 2 without an account, 10 a month on Free. Images and PDFs don't.
Can I upload several files at once?
Yes. Drop them together; each becomes its own document.
