What's recorded
| Event | When |
|---|---|
| Viewed | Someone opened the link. Repeat views by the same visitor within 30 minutes count once. |
| Downloaded | Someone downloaded the PDF. |
| Commented | Someone posted a comment. |
| Filled in | Someone sent a filled copy back. |
| Wrong password | A password attempt failed. |
| Opened after expiry | Someone tried an expired link. |
Each event shows a coarse device ("Chrome on macOS"), the country when known, and a visitor code. On links limited to specific people, it shows the email the visitor signed in and verified with.
What it can't tell you
- A view is not verified identity: anyone with the link can open it, and people on one network can look like one visitor.
- Visitors are counted with a code that changes every day. No IP address is stored and nobody is followed across days.
- If a visitor's browser sends Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control, only the event type and time are kept.
- Link-preview bots are filtered by a basic check and can still appear.
- An email on a restricted link shows which account opened it, not who was at the keyboard.
How long activity is kept
| Plan | Activity kept for |
|---|---|
| Free | 14 days |
| Pro | 90 days |
| Business | 365 days |
My link shows views but no names.
Anonymous links can't know who opened them. Limit the link to Only specific people to see the signed-in email.
Do signature requests show here?
No. Signing activity is tracked on the request itself, under Sent. Link activity covers share links and form responses.
