Install PDFBetter from the Google Workspace Marketplace
Open PDFBetter on the Google Workspace Marketplace, click Install and allow access. Admins can click Admin install to add it for everyone or for chosen groups. Then right-click a file in Drive → Open with → PDFBetter.

Install it for yourself
Step 1: Open the listing
Go to PDFBetter on the Google Workspace Marketplace. From Google Drive, you can also click New → More → Connect more apps and search for PDFBetter.
Step 2: Install
Click Install, then Continue, and choose the Google account whose Drive you use.
Step 3: Allow access
Google lists what PDFBetter asks for: your email address and the Drive files you use with PDFBetter. Allow it to finish.
Step 4: Reload Google Drive
Reload any open Drive tab. PDFBetter now shows under Open with when you right-click a file.
The first file you open still asks you to log in to PDFBetter (or create a free account) and to connect Google Drive once, so PDFBetter can read that file and save PDFs back. What happens the first time.
Install it for your organization
Step 1: Sign in as an admin
Use a Google Workspace admin account that can manage Marketplace apps.
Step 2: Click Admin install
On the listing, click Admin install. In the Google Admin console, the same is under Apps → Google Workspace Marketplace apps → Apps list → Add app.
Step 3: Choose who gets it
Pick everyone in your organization, or specific organizational units or groups, then accept the terms and permissions.
Step 4: Let your team know
PDFBetter appears in Open with in their Google Drive. Google says this can take up to 24 hours.
Uninstall
- For yourself: in Google Drive, click Settings (the gear) → Settings → Manage apps, then next to PDFBetter choose Options → Disconnect from Drive. Or open Manage apps on the Marketplace and uninstall PDFBetter.
- For your organization: in the Admin console, go to Apps → Google Workspace Marketplace apps → Apps list, open PDFBetter and remove it.
- Uninstalling takes PDFBetter out of Open with. To end PDFBetter's access too, disconnect Google Drive in PDFBetter.
Does installing cost anything?
No. Files you open use your PDFBetter plan like any upload; the Free plan includes 3 edited-document downloads a month. See plans.
Can I install it with a personal Google account?
Yes. It works with personal Google accounts and with work or school accounts, unless an admin has blocked Marketplace apps.
