Connect your account
Step 1: Open the Integrations settings
Click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar, then Integrations. Under Zapier & Make, click Set up in Zapier. It opens in a new tab.
Step 2: Add a PDFBetter step to a Zap
In the Zap editor, choose PDFBetter as the app and pick an event, such as the Document Fully Signed trigger or the Compress PDF action.
Step 3: Sign in to PDFBetter
When Zapier asks for an account, sign in. A PDFBetter page opens; log in if you aren't already. Guests are asked to create a free account first.
Step 4: Allow access
The page lists what Zapier will be able to do and how many automation runs your plan includes. Click Allow and connect, or Cancel to stop.
Step 5: Check the connection
Back in PDFBetter, Zapier is listed under Connected apps in Settings → Integrations, with when it was connected and last used.
Files in and out
Actions that work on a document let you pick one already in PDFBetter, or map a file from an earlier step (an email attachment, a form upload, a cloud file). PDFBetter imports that file for the step, so one step is enough. Files PDFBetter produces are passed on to later steps as real files.
Slow jobs such as OCR, conversion or compression run in the background. Zapier waits for PDFBetter to report back when the job ends, so the next step gets the finished file.
What it costs
Every action that runs counts as one agent & automation run. Failed actions aren't counted. The work an action does also uses its normal allowance, exactly as in the app: downloads, conversions, OCR pages, AI credits and signature requests.

Disconnect Zapier
In Settings → Integrations, under Connected apps, click Disconnect next to Zapier and confirm. Zapier stops working with your account right away and its triggers are removed. You can connect again from Zapier at any time.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. Any PDFBetter account can connect Zapier. Free includes 200 runs a month, Pro 5,000, and Business is unlimited (fair use).
Which account do the Zaps use?
The PDFBetter account you were logged in to when you clicked Allow and connect. Teammates connect their own accounts.
The connection page says the link doesn't work. Why?
It was opened from somewhere other than the PDFBetter app in Zapier or Make. Start the connection again from the Zap editor.
