Connect Google Drive
Step 1: Open the Integrations settings
Click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar, then Integrations.
Step 2: Connect
Under Google Drive, click Connect Google Drive and choose your Google account. On Google's screen, keep the Google Drive permission ticked, or the connection fails.
Step 3: Choose where PDFs go
Click Choose folder and pick a Drive folder, or leave it on My Drive. Use Change folder or Use My Drive later to switch.
Step 4: Turn on automatic saving (optional)
Save signed documents automatically files the sealed PDF and its certificate of completion when the last person signs. Save every export copies every PDF you download from PDFBetter into the folder.
Import files from Drive
On your dashboard, click New → Import from Google Drive and pick up to 20 files. PDFs come in as they are; Google Docs, Sheets and Slides arrive as PDFs; Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are converted like an upload. Each file becomes a document you can open from the toast or your documents list. Files over your plan's size limit (50 MB on Free, 250 MB on Pro) are skipped with a reason.
Save a PDF to Drive
- In the editor: Done → Save to Google Drive saves the same PDF the download would give you.
- In the download dialog: Save to Drive uses the options you picked (flattened or fillable, with or without comments).
- In your documents list: the row menu's Save to Google Drive saves the signed copy when there is one.
A save to Drive is a PDF export, so it counts toward your monthly downloads exactly like a download. When it finishes, the toast offers Open in Drive.

When automatic saves stop
| Message in Settings | What to do |
|---|---|
| Google no longer accepts PDFBetter's access | Click Reconnect. |
| The chosen folder was moved, deleted or is no longer shared | Choose a folder again. |
| Your Google Drive is full | Free up space in Drive; the next save tries again. |
| Google Drive asked us to slow down | Nothing; the next copy tries again. |
How do I disconnect Drive?
In Settings → Integrations, click Disconnect under Google Drive. PDFBetter loses access and stops saving there. Files already in Drive stay where they are.
Does it sync edits both ways?
No. Import makes a copy in PDFBetter, and each save adds a PDF to Drive. Changes in one place don't update the other.
Settings says Google Drive isn't available. Why?
The Drive connection isn't switched on for PDFBetter yet. Download the PDF and upload it to Drive yourself until it is.

- The signed PDF, Certificate of Completion and audit trailWhen everyone finishes, each person gets the signed PDF and a Certificate of Completion. Both are digitally sealed and, when the time-stamping service is reachable, independently time-stamped. The signed PDF carries the signing evidence inside it, so changing one byte makes PDF readers flag the file.
