Find a form: templates and official forms like the W-9
Open Templates in the sidebar and pick Library for fillable templates or Official forms for government forms such as the W-9. Click Use template or Fill out and a private copy opens in the editor. In the editor, Find form searches both.

Step 1: Open Templates
Click Templates in the sidebar, or New → From a template.
Step 2: Pick a tab
Library has PDFBetter's original fillable templates, such as invoices, leases and NDAs, with a search box and categories. Official forms lists government forms, grouped by the agency that issues them. My templates holds your own templates, and Team appears when you're in a team.
Step 3: Open a library template
Click a template to see its pages, the fields it has, what to Have this ready and Similar templates. Click Use template. Blank PDF downloads the empty template instead.
Step 4: Or fill an official form
Click Fill out on the form. PDFBetter fetches the issuer's current PDF (Fetching the current form…) and opens a copy with its own fillable fields. Instructions opens the issuer's page about the form.
Step 5: Fill, sign, send
Your copy opens in Edit & fill mode. Fill it out, sign it, download it or send it for signature. The template itself never changes.
From inside the editor
Click Find form in the editor's top bar (on a phone: ⋯ → Find form). The Find a form dialog searches the template library and official forms together; type a form number such as W-9 or what it's for, such as lease. For each result, Open new opens it as a separate document and Add pages adds it to the end of the document you're editing. You can also search templates and forms with ⌘ K in the dashboard.
Which official forms are listed
The list follows your app language. In English you see United States federal forms, such as IRS W-9, W-4, W-8BEN, 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1040 and its schedules, SS-4 and 4506-T, plus Form I-9 and the DS-11 passport application. In German, French, Spanish and Japanese you see forms from those countries' agencies instead. The library templates are written for each market too, not translated word for word.
Is it the current version?
Official forms come straight from the issuer's website. PDFBetter keeps a copy for up to a week and then fetches it again, so you get the version the agency publishes; where the issuer dates its revisions, the revision shows next to the form's name. PDFBetter doesn't give tax or legal advice; read the Instructions to know which form you need and how to file it.
Do I need an account?
No, you can open and fill templates and official forms as a guest. Downloading the filled copy needs a free account, like any edited document.
Can I file a tax form through PDFBetter?
No. PDFBetter fills and signs the PDF. Submit it the way the issuer's instructions say, for example by giving a W-9 to whoever requested it.
I can't find the form I need.
Upload the PDF you have and fill it; if it has no fields, detect them with AI or type anywhere with the Text tool.
