Step 1: Open the link
It opens in any browser, on a phone or a computer. The page shows the form's title and any instructions from the sender.
Step 2: Choose how to fill
Form view shows the questions one under another, which is easiest on a phone. PDF view lets you fill the fields on the page itself. You can switch at any time; your answers carry over.
Step 3: Answer the questions
Required answers are counted at the top (2 of 5 required). Next field takes you to the next one. Calculated fields fill in by themselves.
Step 4: Sign if asked
For a signature or initials field, click Add your signature. Type it, draw it or upload an image of it.
Step 5: Check and submit
Use Preview the PDF with your answers to see the finished page. If the sender asked for it, enter Your email. Complete the human check if one appears, then click Submit.
After you submit
You'll see Submitted and a confirmation message from the sender (or Thanks — your response was submitted.). If the sender allows it, Download your copy (PDF) saves the filled form for your records; the link is shown on that page only, so download it before you leave. Some forms take you to the sender's own web page afterwards (Taking you to the next page…).
When the form won't open
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| This form is paused by its owner. | The sender paused it. Check back later. |
| This form is closed and no longer accepts responses. | The sender closed it, or its closing date passed. |
| This form has reached its response limit. | The sender set a maximum number of responses. |
| This form is not accepting responses right now. | Try again later, or contact the sender. |
Who sees my answers?
Only the person or team that shared the form. The page says so at the bottom: Your answers go only to the person who shared this form.
Is this the same as being asked to sign?
No. A form link collects answers from anyone who has it. If you received an email asking you to sign a document, see What signers see.
Can I change my answers after submitting?
Not from the page. Contact the sender; they can ask you to fill it again.
