Step 1: Add the files
Open Merge PDF and drop two or more PDFs (up to 20 at once). A password-protected file is flagged; unlock it first with Unlock PDF.
Step 2: Order the files
Drag, use the arrows, or sort by name. The output follows this order.
Step 3: Adjust individual pages (optional)
Under Pages, show all pages to move, rotate or remove single pages. The output then follows that view exactly.
Step 4: Set the output
Name the file and choose Bookmarks: Keep each file’s, One per file or None.
Step 5: Click Merge PDF
The file downloads straight from your browser.
Three ways to combine
| Tool | Use it when | Extras |
|---|---|---|
| Merge PDF | You're joining PDFs | Page-level reordering, rotate and remove; bookmark options |
| Assemble PDF | You're building a packet from PDFs and photos | Images placed on pages of the size you choose, a label and bookmark per item, a Blank page before any item |
| Batch merge | You have many files to merge into several outputs | Files are grouped by the text before a separator in their names (ACME_invoice.pdf + ACME_po.pdf → ACME.pdf) |
Already editing a document? In the editor, Merge or upload in the top bar (or Insert pages from a file in Pages) adds a PDF, an image or an Office file to the document you're working on. See Manage pages in the editor.
Do form fields and signatures survive?
Form fields stay fillable; fields that share a name across files are renamed (for example “Name_2”) so each stays independent. Digital signatures in a source file are no longer valid after merging, so merge first and sign afterwards.
Is there a size limit?
No plan limit, because nothing is uploaded. Very large files can run out of browser memory; close other tabs or merge in two rounds.
Can I merge Word files?
Convert them with Word to PDF first (a server conversion), then merge the PDFs. In the editor, inserting a Word file converts it for you.
