# A signing or form link says expired, canceled or not your turn

> The message on the page says why. **Not your turn yet** means others sign first and you'll get an email. **Expired**, **canceled** or **declined** means the request is closed and the sender has to send a new one. **We couldn't open this link** usually means a newer link replaced it.

## Signing links

| You see | Why | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Not your turn yet** | The sender chose a signing order and someone signs before you. The page names who, when it can. | Nothing. We email you when it's your turn; you don't need to keep the page open. |
| **This request has expired** | The deadline the sender set has passed. | Ask the sender to send it again if it's still needed. |
| **This request was canceled** | The sender canceled it. | Nothing; you don't need to sign. |
| **This request was declined** | Another recipient declined or asked for paper, which closes the request for everyone. | Reply to the sender's email if you have questions. |
| **We couldn't open this link** | The link is incomplete, was replaced by a newer one, or isn't a real request. | Use the most recent email from the sender, or ask them to resend it. |
| **Enter your access code** or **Confirm it's you** | The sender added a check. | Enter the code they gave you, or the 6-digit code we email you. See [Verify signers](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/verify-signers-email-code-access-code/). |

> **Senders: fix it from Sent:** Open the request in **Sent** and use **New link / fix email**. It emails a fresh link (and can fix a mistyped address); the old link stops working at once. An expired or canceled request can't be reopened, so send a new one from the document. See [Track, remind, cancel or resend](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/track-signature-requests/).

## When the link opens in your account instead

If you're signed in, requests can also open from **Received**. You may see **Confirm your email address first** (requests are matched by email, so confirm it from your welcome email), **That request isn't available to this account** (it was sent to a different address; use the link in that email) or **It isn't your turn yet**. You can always sign straight from the email without signing in.

## Form links

| You see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **This form is paused by its owner.** | Try later, or contact the person who shared it. |
| **This form is closed and no longer accepts responses.** | The owner closed it or its closing date passed. Ask them if it's still needed. |
| **This form has reached its response limit.** | The owner set a maximum. Only they can raise it. |
| **This form is not accepting responses right now.** | Try again later or contact the sender. |

Form owners can **Resume** or **Reopen** a form and change **Maximum responses** in **Fill links** ([how](https://help.pdfbetter.com/forms/publish-form-fill-link/)).

### The page is blank or keeps loading.

Reload, then try another browser or turn off extensions that block scripts. Signing and form pages need a [supported browser](https://help.pdfbetter.com/troubleshooting/browser-support-saving-problems/).

### A shared document link says it was turned off or expired.

That's a share link, not a signing link. See [What people see when they open your link](https://help.pdfbetter.com/sharing/shared-link-recipient-view/).

### I never got the email with the link.
