## Signing yourself

- [Sign a PDF yourself](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/sign-pdf-yourself.md): Open the PDF, choose Sign → Add signature, create your signature (type, draw or upload) and select Save and sign, then click where it goes. Download with Done → Download. This adds a visual signature; to collect other people's signatures with evidence, request signatures instead.
- [Draw your signature on your phone with a QR code](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/sign-with-phone-qr-code.md): In the signature dialog, choose Add via QR code and scan the code with your phone's camera. Draw with your finger, tap Use this signature, and it appears on your computer; check it and click Save and sign. The link works once, for 10 minutes.
- [Save, reuse and delete your signatures and initials](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/manage-saved-signatures.md): Tick Save for next time when you create a signature, or add one in Settings → Profile & signatures → Saved signatures. Reuse it from Sign → Saved signatures in the editor. Saved signatures need a free account.

## Requesting signatures

- [Request signatures from other people](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/request-signatures.md): Open the document and switch to Invite to sign. Add each recipient's name, email and role, choose In order or All at once, place each person's fields, then choose Send, check the title, message, reminders and expiry, and select Send.
- [Verify signers with an email code or an access code](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/verify-signers-email-code-access-code.md): In Invite to sign, open a recipient and tick Verify with an email code (every plan) or Require an access code (Pro and Business). A forwarded signing link alone then won't open the document.
- [Bulk send: one document to a whole list, each person signs their own copy](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/send-same-document-to-many-signers.md): Prepare the document for one signer, choose Bulk send when you send, then upload a CSV or Excel list (or paste rows) with a name and email per person. Everyone gets their own copy and signing link; you track them all in Sent. Up to 500 recipients per bulk send, on Business.

## For signers

- [What signers see, and how to sign or decline](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/what-signers-see.md): Signers open Review and sign in the email, agree to use electronic records, fill the fields in their color and select Finish (approvers select Approve). No account or app is needed. They can also choose Decline or I'd rather use paper, which closes the request.

## After sending

- [Track, remind, cancel or resend a signature request](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/track-signature-requests.md): Open Sent in the sidebar and select a request. Each recipient shows Emailed, Opened, Signed or Declined. Use Remind, New link / fix email or Cancel request, and download the Signed PDF and Certificate once it's Completed.
- [Contacts: everyone you've exchanged documents with](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/signing-contacts.md): Contacts in the sidebar lists everyone you've sent a document to for signature and everyone who sent you one. It fills itself from your signature requests. Search it, copy an email address, or click Send to sign to start a new request.

## After signing

- [The signed PDF, Certificate of Completion and audit trail](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/signed-pdf-certificate-audit-trail.md): When everyone finishes, each person gets the signed PDF and a Certificate of Completion. Both are digitally sealed and, when the time-stamping service is reachable, independently time-stamped. The signed PDF carries the signing evidence inside it, so changing one byte makes PDF readers flag the file.
- [Are PDFBetter e-signatures legally valid?](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/esignature-legality-and-evidence.md): Electronic signatures are generally accepted for most business documents in many countries, but some documents need more. Signature requests give every signer their own device key and a sealed, time-stamped PDF with the evidence built in. Whether that's enough depends on the law that applies to your document.
