# PDFBetter actions and triggers in Zapier and Make

Zapier and Make use the same set of actions as AI agents connected over MCP, so a step you can run in one works in the others. Zapier names are in title case; Make shows the same names in sentence case, and calls triggers **Watch …** modules.

Searches (the **Find** and **Get** steps) only read. When nothing matches they return an empty result, so you can branch on it.

## Good to know

- In Zapier, **Fill PDF Form** shows one input per form field once you choose the document, so you can map values field by field.
- **Ask Across Documents** only works with documents already in a PDFBetter workspace. It doesn't take a file from an earlier step.
- **Send PDF for Signature** emails real recipients and counts toward your [signature requests](https://help.pdfbetter.com/signing/request-signatures/), as in the app.
- AI actions use your AI credits; OCR uses OCR pages; downloads and conversions count as they do in the app.
- Output links are short-lived (about 10 minutes). Pass the file on in the same run instead of storing the link.

### Do the triggers need the Business plan?

No. Zapier and Make triggers work on any plan with an account. Only the webhooks you add yourself in **API keys** settings need Business.

### Can a Zap edit the text inside a PDF?

No. Changing page text, images or applying redaction is only possible in the editor. Automations can fill form fields, rearrange pages, convert and run AI on documents.
