# What PDFBetter can access in Google Drive, and how to disconnect

> PDFBetter sees only the Drive files you open with it, pick in Google's file picker, or save from PDFBetter, and nothing else in your Drive. To stop its access, click **Disconnect** under Google Drive in **Settings** → **Integrations**.

Do it in PDFBetter: https://pdfbetter.com/app/settings/integrations/

## What PDFBetter asks Google for

| On Google's screen | What PDFBetter does with it |
| --- | --- |
| Your email address and Google account ID | Links your Google account to your PDFBetter account. |
| See, edit, create and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app (`drive.file`) | Reads the files you open with PDFBetter or pick, and saves the PDFs you send to Drive. It can't list or open anything else. |
| Connect itself to your Google Drive (`drive.install`) | Adds PDFBetter to Drive's **Open with** menu. Nothing else. |

PDFBetter never changes or deletes the files you open. Each one is copied into your account as a document and kept like any other ([how long files are kept](https://help.pdfbetter.com/privacy-security/how-long-files-are-kept/)). In Drive, it only creates the PDFs you save, their certificates if you turned on automatic saving of signed documents, and a **PDFBetter** folder when you haven't chosen one.

Google user data isn't used for advertising, isn't sold and isn't used to train AI models. When you use an AI feature on a document, its text is processed as described in [AI and your data](https://help.pdfbetter.com/privacy-security/ai-and-your-data/). The full statement is in the [privacy policy](https://pdfbetter.com/privacy/#google-user-data).

## Disconnect Google Drive

1. **Open the Integrations settings**: Click **Settings** at the bottom of the sidebar, then **Integrations**.
2. **Click Disconnect**: Under **Google Drive**, click **Disconnect** and confirm. PDFBetter revokes its access at Google, deletes the stored sign-in tokens and stops saving to Drive.
3. **Decide about your files**: Files already in Drive and documents already in PDFBetter stay where they are. Delete them separately if you want them gone.

## Remove it on Google's side

- **Google Account:** go to [myaccount.google.com/permissions](https://myaccount.google.com/permissions), choose PDFBetter and remove its access.
- **Google Drive:** click **Settings** (the gear) → **Settings** → **Manage apps**, then next to PDFBetter choose **Options** → **Disconnect from Drive**. This takes it out of the **Open with** menu.
- **Google Workspace Marketplace:** if you installed it there, uninstall it under **Manage apps** ([how](https://help.pdfbetter.com/automation/install-from-google-workspace-marketplace/)).

### Can PDFBetter see the files in my shared drives?

Only the ones you open with it, pick or save into, the same as in My Drive.

### Does disconnecting delete my PDFBetter account?

No. Only the Drive connection ends. To delete your account, see [export your data and delete your account](https://help.pdfbetter.com/privacy-security/export-data-and-delete-account/).

### How do I use Drive again later?

Click **Connect Google Drive** in **Settings** → **Integrations**. Your folder choice starts fresh.
